BANKSIA BEAR - 10" X 8" PRINT

Banksia Bears are designed and created by Rosalie Dixon in the New Zealand North Island city of Hamilton. They are made from original hand drawn designs as unique one off or limited editions. Each bear is made from the finest quality German mohair fabric. They are finished with leather paws, hand blown glass eyes and filled with New Zealand wool. All Teddy Bears are fully jointed. Each bear has its own unique personality and has been hand crafted for the discerning collector. All Banksia Teddy Bears wear a disc with their name and Rosalie's name on the reverse to demonstrate authenticity. All swing tags are personally signed by Rosalie.



How did Rosalie become a world class Teddy Bear designer?




In 1980 she commenced classes as a porcelain artist and then later transferred her skills to porcelain doll making. Working with colours and different textures opens a huge scope for individual creativity and design. After 16 years she decided it was time for a change in direction and started a long and successful career in Teddy Bear designing and crafting.




Banksia Bears moved to larger premises to meet the ever increasing demand from the international market and additional classes. Porcelain dolls were put on the back burner as the Teddy Bears took over!




Rosalie now focus's on designing and hand making Teddy Bears to meet a world wide demand. She is confident you will enjoy viewing the designs and that they captivate your imagination as they have for thousands of satisfied Teddy Bear collectors!




Each Teddy Bear is completely designed and crafted by myself. With one off designs and limited editions, this has made bespoke bear making very collectable. Banksia Teddy Bears are unique, made with passion and are truly are antiques of the future.
